Good Morning Parents!
Please take a look at a few pictures from our field trip last week to the Zoo.

Our class has finally filled up our first marble jar by following directions in class as well as outside of class, working hard, and for getting compliments by other teachers. To celebrate, we will be having a class party on Thursday.

For the celebration party, the class voted on a few things and came to a compromise. Please allow your child to come dressed (or bring this outfit in their backpacks) to school in their pajamas or  sports uniform (favorite sport team, their own sport uniform, etc.) They will also be allowed to bring in one item from home. This item can be a small pillow, blanket, stuffed animal, toy (no electronics), or sport ball (to play at recess).

Wednesday 10/29 Early Dismissal
Friday 10/31 Field Day (We have voted on a name for our team – Reyes’s Rattlesnakes)
Please let me know if you are available to come help our class during field day and/or send in some water bottles and healthy snacks for the students to snack on after field day. I will send out more information about field day once I find out.

International Festival

Good Morning Parents,

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Thank you all so much for all the birthday wishes and gifts. I appreciated them very much. 

Please take a look at a few pictures from the International Festival parade and other events in our class.

Field trip to the Zoo on Thursday:

Parents – Please send your child to school with their red Roberts shirt on, comfortable walking shoes, and a disposable sack lunch.

Chaperons – please be here by 9:00 am on Thursday. We will load the buses between 9:15 – 9:25.  I will give you a list of names (3-4 students in a group) so that you know who you will be in charge of for the day. Please bring a large tote bag to carry lunches for your group of students as well!

We are scheduled to attend an adventure class in the Brown Education Center with Ms. Medbery’s Class at 11:00. Please meet me outside of the Brown Education Center at 10:45 with your group.

We will start loading the buses to go home at 1:30. Please meet me back at the front gate by 1:15.

Wednesday, 10/29 Early Dismissal - Parent Conferences

I met with some of you last week to discuss your child’s current progress in school, but if I haven’t had a chance to talk to you and you would still like to meet, please sign up for a time on October 29^th so that we can meet.  The sign-up sheet will be right outside of our classroom door.

Please email me if you would like to reschedule for another day. My conference time is from 8:15-9:00 am on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

 

For the next two weeks, in the following subjects we will be working on…

Language Arts- contractions, proper nouns, r-controlled vowels (er, ir, ur), singular and plural nouns

Reading- author’s purpose, facts and details

Math- count by 1’s, 10’s, and 100’s using base-10 blocks, explore place value, build numbers using base-10 models, dollar and cent notation, calculate coin combinations, distinguish between analog and digital clocks, model, describe, and compare shapes on a geoboard, tally chart, bar graph, and picture graph exploration

Science- introduction into different ecosystems

Social Studies- continents and oceans, map skills
