Good Morning Parents!
For the last few weeks during our IB block we have been studying about the
economic cycle. Mrs. Graves was kind enough to talk to the entire 2nd
grade about the process that she goes through to make hard decisions in regards
to our budget here at Roberts Elementary. After her talk, Mrs. Graves gave all
the 2nd grade classes a challenge. The students were asked to make a
pro/con list and persuade her to either spend $5,000 on ebooks or hardbound
books for the school next year. We turned in our persuasive writing letters to
Mrs. Graves on Friday and we should be hearing back from her this week. We will
keep you posted on her decision. The majority of the class voted on hardbound
books.
For the next two weeks, in the following subjects we will be
working on…
Language Arts- abbreviations; quotation marks; final
syllables –tion, -ture, -ion; prepostions
Reading- author’s purpose, draw conclusions
